Tell us all here who you are?
How did you find KTZ?
Google search for customized ROMs for the Coby 7015B.
Do you own a KYROS?
Yes, 4 of them... 2 that I've rendered useless for the time-being and two unopened (I should mention that the 2 unopened tablets are screaming for help - hoping that I'll forget about them).
Which model do you have?
7015B (ARM 1176 800 MHz, 256MB Ram).
If you don't have a KYROS, which clone do you have?
Have you rooted your tablet?
Yes, 2 of them with SuperOneClick v2.3.3 - zergRush.
However, after successfully rooting and installing CWM on two of the tablets, something went awry.
I'll post what I did to the 2 tablets that I've put into a temporary coma once I finish typing it and locate an appropriate thread to use.
Have you installed ClockworkMod or KTZ Recovery?
Have you ever owned a Tablet prior to the Kyros?
No, just Android smart-phones (Evo4G/3D). I've rooted quite a few Android phones, installed AmonRa or CWM recovery and several different customized ROMs (flash-a-holic).
Are you still on Android OS 2.1?
No, the 7015B has 2.3.3 installed.
Why did you choose the Coby 7015B?
Over the past several months I've been suggesting to one of our daughters that she shouldn't let her 3 young girls play games on her Evo4G (I said she should consider getting an inexpensive 7” tablet for them). Of course those warnings went in one ear and picked-up speed heading out the other side.
That changed 4 weeks ago when her youngest daughter was using her phone. She laid it on the table and proceeded to accidentally knock over a 30 ounce mug of water directly on top of it (luckily her phone was unscathed because of the protective case she had it in). I received a call from our daughter shortly after the incident, with panic still fresh in her voice asking me what she could get for all three of them instead of using her phone.
I told her that I had already been looking for an inexpensive tablet that could be rooted and had custom ROMs available. She decided that in order to avoid fights between the siblings, ages; 5, 7 & 9 to get a tablet for each (really, sisters fight?). I said, “Sure, I have just the tablet that I can root and setup for them”.
I ordered 4 of the tablets because I've wanted one for my wife and I (decided this was as good of time as any to try one).
